Micah 5:1-2 (NLT)
Mobilize! Marshal your troops!
The enemy is laying siege to Jerusalem.
They will strike Israel’s leader
in the face with a rod.
But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
are only a small village among all the people of Judah.
Yet a ruler of Israel,
whose origins are in the distant past,
will come from you on my behalf.

Pray
God Almighty, Your plan to rescue Your people has not been thwarted. Every promise You have made has and will come to pass. We rejoice in Your strength and rest in Your sovereignty. Lord Jesus, even at Your birth the angels declared Your destiny to save us from our sin and sit upon David’s throne. You are our King and all authority has been given to you. Enable us by Your Spirit this Advent season to live as citizens of Your Kingdom. Come Lord Jesus, we pray. Amen.
